Beginners, don't pass this by!
The dots and center-medallion Pattern looked too complicated for my beginner level, but this is really easy to knit, no complicated techniques at all. My only stumbling block was in understanding how to pick up stitches while attaching the sole to the back of the body of the slipper. I consulted a knitting website for help, but if you buy your yarn from an actual yarn store (vs a big box store) they will be happy to give you personalized help. Also, the generous fitting tips given in the pattern provide the information needed to fit these to knit them as presents for your entire family! I didn't understand at first that the width of the sole adds to the width of the ankle ribbing, so my initial increasing of the ribbing stitches for my swollen ankles turned out to be unnecessary. Customer service was excellent, and the site also has some beautiful stitch markers that I have my eye on (so much prettier than the plastic ones, and very reasonably priced).
