Some yarn is simply irresistible. Here is my delicious loot from The Gourmet Yarn Shop.
I love all of the Schaefer Yarns. They are very well spun, yummy in content and the colors are simply incredible. So, when I saw this skein of lace weight blend of 50% merino – 50% silk I just had to have it. It is a part of Schaefer’s new line – Audrey and intended, believe it or not, for kids. Well, just call me a stingy Mommy, but this is my next project and it will become a lacy scarf for me. The name of this beautiful color is Little Mermaid.
I was not planning to buy more sock yarn. I did not need any more. And I do not love Mohair. But as I set there and nursed my baby that skein of yarn was hanging there, in front of me and calling out to me. So I just had to adapt it. The yarn is the Schaefer’s Anne. The content is 60% Merino, 25% Mohair and 15% Nylon. The name of the color is Berthe Morisot.
Here is some more unplanned sock yarn. I confess. I got lots and lots. And I should live long enough to be able to knit it. But this skein of Opal just had to come home with me. I can already imagine my feet wearing the wonderfully bright and soft Opal socks. This skein has already been kitted up – meaning it is in the bag with needles and a row counter. I will start knitting them as soon as I am done with “An Ample Shawl” I am knitting for my friend.
I love this bright and colorful fingering weight cotton. I need it for a special secret project. I will share it with you when it is done.
Besides being a yarn collector I am also a bead and button freak. I love these huge over-sized buttons and I could not resist adding another hook to my tool collection.
