My head is still spinning. I can not believe I did it. I had my Sunday all nice and planned out. I was going to make some more necklaces. I was going to finish my orders. Have a really meaningful talk with mi MIL, I was going to….
Forget it. As they say in Yiddish – Man plans and G-d laughs.
Well, I hope someone got to be amused. I certainly was not!
The Phone Call came at 11 a.m. It was my Grandmother. She was really, really upset with me. My Sister visited her and let it slip that DS #1 is going to Israel in a few days. How can we let him go before she can see him. Guilt, major guilt! GM never asked me for anything before! So in a moment of insanity I picked up the baby, took DS #1 and off we went to Philadelphia. No car. (DH was at work). It took us about 5 hours to get to Grandma’s. For a very, very emotional visit, that lasted less than an hour.
The good thing was visiting my Mom and Dad afterwards.
We sat for a few minutes and just enjoyed the youngest and the oldest of my kids.
Then my Mom showed me some of her necklaces. Wow! When I infect someone I do it well! Her creations are gorgeous, very dramatic, and to me totally unexpected.
And being my wonderful Mom she even gifted me with two of them!
Nothing lasts, and soon my Sister came and we got in the car to go home. It was very hard to say goodbye after what seemed like only a few minutes together. We got home around midnight. Totally exhausted. But now I can sleep at night.
P.S. I have to add that none of it would have been possible without help from my wonderful MIL, who took care of my kids while I was away. We said goodbye to her today, as she set out for Israel a few hours ago. I miss her already.
