OK, I got little navy dots dancing in front of my eyes!
Last night I have grafted the shoulders, finished up the armholes and started on the hood.
DD is incredibly excited and tried to convince me that the vest was totally OK to wear to school today.
Sure! With the circular needle full of live stitches, contrasting green yarn from the temporary Cast On on the bottom, random yarn tail hanging here and there… Yes, that is the Look!
So, despite her begging and pleading I did not give it to her today.
I now HAVE to finish the hood or she might spontaneously combust and my house is messy enough as it is.
Of course I could have finished it last night…
Well, instead I went out with a friend to celebrate her MIL’s birthday. The MIL is also a good friend of mine. Another friend came to join us from Haifa and we sat and talked, and drunk the 90 proof chocolate liqueur made by the “birthday girl” and truth to tell the food was too good to forgo it even for knitting.
So here I am now, on Friday, with a house to clean, two meals to cook and the hood to knit..
Somehow the expected cleaning lady did not materialize today and this is a big bummer. But what can I do? I got a sweater to finish, so guess who is going to be stuck sweeping the floor and making side dishes… Hey if I can use knitting as a way to manipulate my kids to a cleaner home, I will be a happy knitting Mommy!
