Here is the scoop on what was happening around here today.
DS# 1 went on the overnight class trip to Washington DC. He finally stumbled in home about 1am. Tired, hungry and exited. Today he was telling us all about the trip and what they saw there. One of the sight visited was a Holocaust Museum. How is that for Hashgacha Pratit (Divine Providence). They were there on June 22, they day that the Holocaust started for the Jews, who lived in the now defunct USSR. I asked him how was it. He told me that it was very interesting, but he could only take so much. That is when I realized, that just like many survivors of the previous generation, I do not talk about it to my kids. I will have to fix that.
Now on a lot lighter note we have very reluctantly said “Bye, bye,Peggie”, the hedgehog today. Her curtness is off the Richter scale. My kids were in love. And I think Peg liked it here very much. My DS#1 has taught her some nigunnim(melodies), and DD#1 has given her a thorough look see, telling me that we need our own resident hedgehog and she will take care of that.
I have almost finished my Flower Power hat. This is yet another crochet summer hat made with the yarn left over from The Tulips On My Hem dress. I think this yarn is the equivalent of the proverbial pea soup. It just multiplies when I am not watching. Here is what I have so far:
I might finish it today. Then I will write out the pattern, and for a change it will be in three sizes – 2T, 4T, and 6T. I hope to finish writing it out and getting it on Ravelry and Etsy before I go to Philadelphia, to my parents.
I have made a new bunch of stitch markers and hope to get them out on Etsy too.
Oh, and my AcciDental skirt is also almost done. I will be writing about that separately.
I am trying to see if I can finish four of my projects before Shabbos. If I can, than I will reward myself, I will start a toddler something with Yarnarian‘s yarn. By the way, for those, who were interested – it is fingerling, not lace.
