Most of us at one time or another ended up on the treadmill, running into nowhere. Couple of years ago I have been foolishly determined to loose weight (of course as soon as I lost 20lb I got pregnant and gained 80lb) I too tried it out.
All I can say is that I am definitely not in love with the concept. But, it worked. So, now I am doing some treadmill knitting. No I have not gone back to the gym…yet. What I am doing is trying to finish up as many projects as I can before December 31.
I do not know why I got this compulsion. And I am not going to explain it even to myself. But I have been knitting really a lot. Why do I feel as if I am on treadmill – because my startitis have not abated at all. So I would diligently knit for hours, almost finish, or at least get close enough to tell myself that a project in my hands is almost finished, just to put it down and cast on for something new and exciting.
Last night – or is it already morning(?) I have cast on for a pair a slippers in my favourite Noro Kureyon – the slippers (if they are ever completed) are going to be for me. Then, this morning I finally cast on for socks – also for me in that yummy purple cashmere blend from Yarnarian.
All of that while the “Nap Saque” is still “almost done”. The “Carnation Dress” is stuck – I need to figure out what I want to do for the skirt. Meanwhile – her birthday is coming up (less than two weeks left) and my self-imposed deadline together with it.
So you can see that treadmill thing – I am knitting a lot and finishing little.
The kids are gone, the house is quiet, I am going to finish up something now.
