My favorite (at the moment) sound – the sound of silence. The baby finally gave up and went to sleep. I guess she decided that I was not that much fun at 3 a.m.
So all is quiet for a while. At least until one of the kids needs a drink, a hug, or until my DS #1 alarm will go off at 3.30 a.m.
A whole half hour to myself – I feel decadent!
The last three days were not easy. They were good, but not easy.
Because of the holiday of Sukkot all kids are now home on vacation. They will be home for one more week.
DS #1 and his friend will be here, with us. for 11 more days. Most days I can only detect my son’s presence by the piles of laundry (appearing) and cold cuts (disappearing).
To make room for the boys we moved the crib of my toddler into my other kids room. Now there are 5 of them there. It kind of fits. Of course we can not shut the door to the closet anymore, and the only way of getting into the closet is to breathe in and crawl under the crib. Thankfully I have plenty of little people who think this is fun.
I started knitting as soon as the Shabbos was over. I really needed to touch some yarn. So I worked on the colorful wool/bamboo skirt for DD #4. Then a couple of rounds in her “kamikaze” lace dress. I am not sure that I did not bit off more than I can chew this time. I love the way it looks, but it is taking a very long time to knit. And sometimes it feels like it does not grow at all.
I need to start something in thicker yarn. A bit of instant gratification would be welcome at this point.
