Actually very, very near.
The kids will be going back to school next Thursday. This year the girls are starting school early because due to the clerical error they went off early on vacation.
This of course means the much dreaded by me Back to School shopping.
I have spent Sunday and Monday in Haifa, buying school shirts, tights and lots of other things for my kids. And more to come! Since shopping means travel I get quite a bit of knitting squeezed in between the bus trips and sitting around and waiting my turn in the shop. On Monday we spent an hour waiting in the shoe store to be measured. All the while I was happily working on restoring the purple skirt for DD #3. It is now done! As good as new. And DD got a new pair of shoes too!
I really wanted to be finished with that skirt. Somehow repairs are always much less fun than the original knitting was. Wonder why…
Possibly as a reaction to all of that repairing and finishing up I have been bit by a startitis bug. I have started a few new projects to reward myself for being so good and fixing the skirt.
First – another new Winter hat. I am still refining a new Rochel’s Hat pattern. I think I almost got it right last time.
I am using a delicious yarn from Lorna’s Laces. It is “Lion & Lamb”, 50% Silk/50% Wool in charcoal.
I got it more than 10 years ago, when a dear friend has organized a huge wholesale group buy from Lorna’s. I have always thought I will use it for something very special. Now I found this something.
And a new “on the go” project – “Purple Raspberry” Ruffle Scarf.
Yesterday I suddenly realized that I do not have a sock in progress on my needles. I was shocked! So I am going to start a new sock for me today. I wanted to write that I might not need another pair of socks, but then I thought that it was madness, of course I need more new socks. Everyone does!
So, here is my new socks embryo
The yarn is Opal in colorway called “Little Prince”.
Yep, startitis has definitely started…
