At least for a while.
The crowning achievement and the last accomplishment of my Finishing Marathon is a warm woolly vest for DH. I knit it for his birthday, last year. But somehow I never managed to find the time to weave in the ends. I also could not find perfect “manly” buttons for this west. I did not want some dull black plastic cheep looking junk. And that seemed to be all my local yarn shop offered. I wanted something gentlemanly and dignified, something with gray but no gold or silver. I wanted buttons that would compliment the vest and not the other way around. It turned out that I wanted way too much.
I have given up, but decided to try again on my latest trip to Haifa. I traipsed through six or seven shops dedicated to knitting, sewing and notions. This was not easy, since I had an 18 year old male in tow. Guys just don’t get buttons and trim. He wanted out!
But when I finally found some possibilities in the last shop DS was nice enough to choose two finalists. His choice was right on the button! DH likes them too!
So on Thursday morning, while DH went to Shul I tackled the vest. By the time Eli came home I was on the last button.
So he wore it to work on the first really cool day.
Hooray for me!
