Today is the last day of the Jewish month of Nissan. Customary it is the month in which the Jews say a blessing over a flowering fruit tree. In it we thank G-d for creating all beautiful things, including the fruit bearing trees for our enjoyment.Since the fruit trees are not exactly abundant in my Brooklyn neighborhood we were very happy to encounter this pear tree yesterday and to say our blessing over it.
