What do you do when you discover that someone, who had better remain nameless, played with scissors and the knits you have so lovingly made just a few months ago have become “holy”?
This is what happened to me yesterday.
I am still surprised that I did not explode, yell or do something else incredibly stupid…
I do not even want to know who did it, through I got my suspects…
DD #4 was wearing a purple skirt I knit for her older sister last year and I noticed that something looked wrong there. Yea, really wrong, about a 3″ long cut almost exactly halfway down the skirt. I got the skirt off DD #4 and realized that there really was no way to fix the cut. And the stitches have already started to unravel downward and upward. I was not ready to give up on the skirt so I decided to perform “knitting surgery”. I picked up the few stitches I teased out from the top part of the cut and carefully started to unravel the row under it, freeing up more and more stitches and picking them up one by one.
It was a very slow going and took me a few hours last night and this morning. I am now ready to start re-knitting the skirt again.
Here is the skirt as it was a year ago:
And this is what it looks like now:
Oh well, possibly the time has finally came to write the tutorial for this skirt.
