I know that there are knitters and crocheters who scorn stashing. They only buy as much yarn as needed for the current project. They are also probably the same people, who do one project at the time.
Not me! I think I am destined to stash. I collect fine yarn like others collect fine wine or stamps, or first editions. I do not know why I collect it. It is not greed, because I am always happy to share with friends. I think it just gives me that nice and fuzzy feeling that I got yarn to knit almost anything I might want. Each skein of yarn is pregnant with the possibilities. And the same skein might become a pair of socks, a hat or a baby sweater. And usually I do not know, until I start knitting.
So, why am I writing this “Ode to Stash”?
Because I just got more yarn.
Here are some pretty skeins, that are destined (so far) to become an African Flower Hexagon Crochet Afghan and Granny Ripple Afghan.
I have also got three skeins of a very interesting cotton yarn. It has very, very long color repeats. I am not a fan of cotton, but I was seduced by beautiful colors.
You can see many more gorgeous skeins in the Wolle’s Etsy Shop.
Last, but definitely not least are four beautiful skeins from Yarnarian. Truly her motto says it all – Life, liberty and pursuit of yarn!
