I have been rushing around from the moment I woke up, but keep stopping now and then to add a few more stitches on the second, yes, hear that, second one of the Cloud Socks! I suspect that today is going to be really hectic. In less than a half hour I got to be on my way to Haifa. More shopping for kids, and (as compensation) more knitting on the road.
I have really concentrated on Cloud Socks yesterday and the first one is practically done!
The only things left to do is to free and bind off the stitches on the top from the Provisional Cast On and to Kitchener the toe. I usually leave these two tasks for later, when the second sock is finished too. Just in case I am a bit short on yarn and I will need to do a sock-to-sock yarn transfusion.
Meanwhile I got my second sock zipping along and knitting up nicely. I am almost at the end of the first stitch pattern repeat. There will be 5 on this sock. I can not wait to get these socks on. I was worried that with their pink-purple color I will look like a particularly fat flamingo. But the yarn is so wonderful that I do not care anymore. Anyway, I wear very, very long skirts so not much chance of sock flashing here. So Flamingo Feet it is! Actually I just might re-name this project, LOL!
Despite the sock-mania going on strong I did take some time out to puzzle out one more interesting stitch I found on one of the Russian sites.
I was so good that I even wrote up instructions for the Tweed Stitch Pattern and will publish it later today. I truly feel entitled to one of my special sea salt chocolates!
