First and foremost – socks. Or rather SOCKS!!!
I am on the second sock of my Manly Twist pair. Somewhere between the end of the foot and the beginning of the toe the sock ownership has changed. DH has been left sockless. His own fault! I asked him nicely to try it on, but he was too busy at the moment. Well, I wanted to start the toe, so I roped in DS #1 as my stand in sock model. That worked very well if one discounts the fact that for the first time in a couple of years he asked me if this could possibly be for him. Since DH did not really care if he is going to get this pair or the next one the rest was simple. Now I am dealing with an eighteen year old, who keeps asking if the socks are done yet.
Nope dear. Soon, real soon!
Anyway, let me show off the sock number one
The second sock is still in the embryonic state
But like I said, I am working on it. Problem is beads have found a new and insidious way of cutting into my knitting time. Lots of my today has been spent in stringing tiny number 8 seed beads. Yea, I know there are people out there working with beads number 11 and smaller, but not me. So far I have strung up SIX HUNDRED and TWENTY of these things out of eight hundred required just to start this crazy project. And yes, I know that my suffering is entirely self inflicted.
What project? Well, shhh… It is a secret. At least it is a secret until tomorrow.
Besides stringing wast quantities of tiny seed beads for undisclosed purpose I have also been playing with much bigger beads. I have started adding new stitch markers and accessories to my Chicken Stitches Etsy Shop. Here is the Apple Blossom pendant/stitch marker holder that was listed today.
I used to have a similar one for sale, but run out of these beautiful beads. I picked up four of them while I was in the States a few months ago and decided to change my pendant’s look entirely. And gave it five new free companion markers.
Well, I have finished the Twisted Socks pattern. Now DH has to edit it. I am hoping it will happen this week. If I bug him enough. Or bribe him with another cake…
We are going to a wedding tomorrow. Yes, shockingly both of us! We have not done it in at least a year! DD #2 has agreed to babysit for a small consideration (chips, chocolate and a new ruffle scarf) also we are taking her younger brother with us. A simple precaution to prevent excess bloodshed.
OK, I better get back to stringing, before kids show up in mass!
I hope I will have something really special to show off tomorrow.
