Today my three year old daughter made a major anatomical discovery. As she changed from one dress into another (I will write about the gruesome task of potty training later) she noticed something interesting between her chin and her belly-button. Yep, give the girl a chocolate – she found her nipple! At first, she was disturbed by the suspicious protuberance and demanded a Band-Aid. The interesting thing was that I was nursing the DD #4 at the time. So I simply explained to DD# 3, that what she found is a nipple. And it is there so that when she will become a Mommy she could feed her baby. DD#3 looked very thoughtful for a few minutes, than she zipped up her robe. Looked very thoughtful again. Unzipped and bending over the DD#4 said “Baby, milk here! Baby eat!”. I was stunned. Somehow I just did not expect this. And her wonderful sincere generosity and willingness to try new things made me very happy. I explained that the nipples will start “working” in a few years. I hope she will remember it when the time really comes.
