It is snowing really hard. Funny, but yesterday no one wanted to believe that the snow will come. We tried to buy snow boots for DS#1 and the guy at the shoe store told me that he did not have any. As the matter of fact he is getting in sandals. I feebly tried to remind him that the snow was coming, he told me that he wanted to see it first. Well I hope he is looking out of the window.
The kids are home and the whole apartment is buzzing like a beehive. What is going to be tomorrow? Who knows.
In addition to the impromptu vacation today was our Matzo Baking Day. Yes, this is exactly what it sounds. My DH and a group of like minded guys go to the Matzo Bakery and help and supervise the baking of Handmade Shmura Matzo that will be used on Passover. For those who have only seen Matzo that comes in a small square box – this Shmura Matzo is totally different. First of all, it is round, and a lot larger. Also it tends to be “well done”, I love the charcoal parts. So, yesterday was a lot of stress about the baking. Are the ladies who roll out the dough will show up? Will there be enough of them? There was no way my DH was going to drive, how was he going to get his matzo home? Would the kids be able to go and help? All turned out well in the end. Even the kids (the oldest four) got to go. DH got the matzo home safe and sound. DS #1 was able to take a photo of my husband tenderly holding his precious box of matzos.
Now it is waiting for Pesach on it’s usual shelf.
Now what to do with the kids for the rest of the day…
