My mitten marathon is now officially over! At least until the kids will start loosing the mittens. I have finished up the last pair of mittens tonight. It feels so good to be able to keep the little hands warm. Nothing wrong with store bought. But handmade is so much better. As I knit the mittens I knit out my anxieties and knit in my prayers. And hope it forms an extra layer of protection. Please, G-d keep them safe, keep them well…
A friend of mine told me that she hesitates knitting hats and mittens for her kids, because this things get lost so easily. And then she gets upset. Well, I get upset too. And might rave a bit, OK, OK, a lot. But it does not stop me from making them another hat, or a mitten. After all, it is a bit like sending a part of me with them.
Not only did I finished up the mittens, but I have published a pattern for them too! I am really proud of finishing it up now, and not in the middle of July. The pattern is pretty simple, it knits up fast because the yarn is worsted weight. It is knit in the round, so no seams are needed.
The pattern is now on sale in my Etsy Shop and on my website – ChickenStitches.Com.
Come over and take a look.
