My DD# 3 has never met a hat she did not love. Time of the year and circumstances are not important. I fear that if the horned helmets came in toddler size I would be in big trouble. My Mom would have got her one.
As the main recipient of my knitted and crochet creations in the past two years she was really shocked to discover the “competition” from the new baby. So in the name of peace and quiet I have knit DD #3 a new hat.
I was too tired and sleep deprived to come up with something new and exciting. Instead, I used a pattern for “Baby Lace Hat“.
But I made it with DK yarn (Zara, by Filatura Di Crosa) and #5 DPNs. It looks a lot more solid. The texture is nice and smooth and, most importantly DD #3 loves it. I am so happy with this pattern! The lace panels make the hat not too warm. And it is easy to remember and keeps stockinette from being boring.
The pattern is on sale in my Etsy shop and now includes directions, helping to up size the hat to sizes 2T and 3T.
