I just woke up and I am still feeling soooo tired. Most of yesterday, just like the day before, has been spend on running from one office to another. With one significant difference. We were able to accomplish most of what needed to be done.
Still it took lots of time and effort. The walking still takes a lot of me. Even with a good stroller it is not easy to go steady up the hill, and going down the hill with a fully loaded double stroller is an adventure. There is only up or down here, in Migdal HaEmek, no even flat stretches, or practically none. Still it is nowhere near the ups and downs of Tzfas. We got hills, they got mountains!
So we went first to one end of our town, then to another. At the bank yesterday was an “Ice Cream Day”! All customers got amazingly tasty Ice Cream. I did not want DD #3 to have any, since she has a dreadful strep throat infection. But she got very upset and in the end I gave in, after a bank employee told us that it would probably be good for her. What could I say?! Only in Israel!
Then I (lucky me) got to go home to greet the kids, but DH had more errands to run. After he was done, we met up again to go to the Social Security office. The guard there decided that I was a suspicious character and arrested my “Good Mood” shawl in progress. I think he was trying to tell me that metal needles were not allowed in this office. It was ridiculous, since the needles are #4 Addis and are very dull. I actually demonstrated it by poking myself with them and showing him how safe the needles are, but instead of being calmed down he looked horrified. He did let me keep my sock in progress with me since I am knitting it with the bamboo DPNs. The clerk in the office was totally fascinated by them. She kept saying that they are look exactly like bamboo skewers for barbecue. And thought it was funny I was knitting with them. So I let her try them out and, no surprise here, she loved it!
