The weather website on my cellphone is trying to convince me that it is partly cloudy outside. LOL! It is in denial, all I can see out of my window is blurry shapes behind the curtain of rain. I love the sharp fresh smell of rain, tinged with pine and wet grass. My window is open wide and I listen to the beat of rain on the metal cover of our air conditioner.
Meanwhile I am knitting sunshine. The beautiful bright yellow-orange yarn radiates feeling of warmth and well being. All is right with my word. At least for a little bit. I have stolen for myself a few minutes of peace and quiet. A few minutes when I refuse to think about anything further than the next round of stitches. Life is simple, knit, knit, knit, make one knit one, purl two, knit, knit, knit…
Beautiful rosewood needles easily transform string into fabric.
My favorite stitch markers tell me when to increase.
A good old book that has been read at least ten times before is playing on my MP3 player.
My mind is free to rest from the anguish of daily news. Three terror attacks this morning. At least five wounded, two in serious condition. Stop, I wispier to myself, stay with the yarn. Anguish does not help. Anguish is not useful. Once more I push away the dog that is gnawing on my soul.
Knit, knit, make one knit one, purl two, knit, knit, knit.
I will hypnotize myself into inner peace.
