Tapestry needle to weave in the ends.
Ch – Chain
DC- Double Crochet
Sl st – Slip stitch.
SC – single crochet.
Please note, in this pattern the “ch3” stitches at the end of the row are not included in the total stitch count.
You will be making 51 stitch in every row plus the “ch3”.
Row 1 Make 1DC in the third stitch from the hook. Make 46 LDC, ch3, turn.
Row 2 1 DC in the first stitch of the previous row. Make 46 LDC, ch3, turn.
Repeat Row 2 13 more times. We will have 15 rows totally.
Do not cut the yarn. Fold the rectangle lengthwise.
Sl St together both layers on one side. cut the yarn.
This is the back of the bonnet. The open side opposite is the face. Fold over about 3 rows worth of fabric.
The open side on the bottom is neck.
Row 1 SC around the neck opening, attaching the part that was folded over.62st.
Row 2 1DC in the first st of the previous row. 2DC in the next stitch. Continue this all around. 78st.
Row 3 2DC in each stitch of the previous row. 156st.
Row 4 1DC in the first st of the previous row. 2DC in the next stitch. Continue this all around. 234st.
Row 5 1DC in each stitch of the previous row.
You are all done. Cut the yarn, hide the ends, saw on the buttons. There is no need to make buttonholes – the space between the first and second stitch will work just fine.
