My knitting tells me that I am getting into a new stage of my year. Or my life. Not sure about what is happening but I am finally craving to knit things other than baby wardrobe.
Probably partly because I am still not sure what I can knit for my almost two months old son that would be comfortable to wear in very warm weather here in Israel. And that weather is coming pretty soon.
Another thing is that I have found an interesting tutorial (sorry in Russian) on slip stitch knitting. And all of a sudden I figured out why I was so dissatisfied with the vest I was knitting for DS #4. The yarn I was using for it will be perfect for this slip stitch pattern so I decided to frog the vest and redo it for next year. But not right now.
Meanwhile I decided to finish the neckwarmer I started knitting months ago and free up a project bag.
And then I came across the “Year of Techniques” concept. Apparently the technique of the month this month is Helical Stripes. Very, very easy and looks lovely. Someone on Twitter referred me to this video for the explanation of it. So I decided that I need a new pair of socks. A long time ago I made a pair of very long socks for my friend Tamar, well I still have some purple yarn leftover from them. I am going to pair it up with black yarn and try out this Helical Stripes technique.
Beads are back in my life too and fighting it out with yarn for the little bits of my supposedly free time. I usually load a few Kumihimo disks with beads and then braid them off one by one.
Here is the latest one in progress
The beads are Long Magatamas, threaded on 1mm satin cord.
And I am thinking Summer nursing coverups… We need something light and airy so we can nurse easily when we go out. I just got to check out my stash…
Looks like the my Spring Startitis is still going strong!
