First of all, I would like to thank all our readers who left their comments on my previous post. I was really thrilled by your interest to my report from Israel.
I apologize in advance for my English, – it’s my third language. Anyway, just a few words about past Shabbos (Saturday). It was a Yortzeit of my Mother’s Grandfather Shraga Feivish זצ”ל. He past away in 1961 at the age of 88. He was very strong spiritual person. He went through all the Revolutions and Wars, Communist regime etc. And although it was dangerous and many times practically almost impossible to live in Soviet (and pre-Soviet) Russia as religious Jew, my GGF did it with proud and even taught as much as he could his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to follow the traditions of our forefathers (Stalin ימ”ש made a special decree in 1932 of strictly prohibition to teach children any religion).
I am sure that my dear GGF is proud of his descendants, – almost 100% of whom are fully religious Jews keeping all the Commandments and traditions. (My DS#1 was named after him). One of them is my dear cousin. Her family was first between our close relatives who did Aliyah (immigrated to Israel from Soviet Russia) 20 years ago.
Finally, they could buy a house in Israel. Today, August 8th, she made a special party to celebrate new dwelling. All her brilliant 4 kids, 7 grandchildren and many more relatives and friends, (including me and my son) came to their new house.
In the beginning, the Father of the family escorted by everybody else affixed a new Mezuzah on the doorpost of the main entrance.
Then my cousin’s youngest son completed studying part of Talmud.
Later was a lot of treats, entertainment and pictures. And many wishes of success and happiness in their house.
It was really a big and happy event for all of us.
