I am so sorry I have not posted in the past two weeks. There was lots to share, but I was so busy living through it, I had not time to post. Our first wonderful news is that we finally have the Internet working! Now I will be able to keep up a lot better with all that happens in cyberspace. And I hope I will be able to post a lot more often. Last Friday we were finally reunited with our things that were shipped by sea. We were very happy and a bit intimidated. From pretty specious our apartment became quite claustrophobic when all the boxes were stuffed inside. I think we gave the poor movers quite a shock. There were books, many books, about 50 boxes of books. And lots of plastic containers crammed with yarn. The rest was mostly dishes or furniture. At some point the movers were concerned that we would not be able to fit all the boxes inside. But all was well, and all things made it inside.
It took us 4 days to find the screws for the beds. We packed them very carefully into the separate Ziploc bags and then put all the little bags into one box. Then this box was packed with the rest of our things. And yes, we forgot to mark the box it went into. Well… By the time the container got to us we could not really remember what kind of box it was and how it looked like. So we were hunting frantically for screws since Friday. I tell you, I felt like I might have a screw loose. We finally found the screws early (as in 1 A.M.) last morning, after opening and checking each box twice and spend most of yesterday putting the furniture together and re-packing the yarn to get it out of the way. At this point the beds are finally done and the really big boxes are finally out of the house. I still have some yarn to shuffle and some dishes to put out. The rest is the tedious things – bedding, closes e. t. c. If you notice I am not mentioning books. That is because before we unpack them we will need bookcases first – a lot of them. Through all this I am knitting as much as possible and have started a few new projects. But have not finished any more old ones so far.
