Well, as of today we have officially finished learning the “Alef-Bet” – Hebrew equivalent of ABCs. I can hardly believe it, but in exactly two weeks I can actually read and write Hebrew words. Something I have not been able to accomplish before. And I have tried quite a few times.
I love learning. It was very hard in the beginning to get the old brain moving. But I am now actually enjoying myself! I am also a lot less shy. My only problem is that I get so tired in ulpan (school), that I come home and fall asleep. This means that I got a lot less time for boring but necessary things like house cleaning and cooking. Thankfully DH pitches in a lot!!
All kids except DD #1 are back in school. She was the last to get sick and almost the worst case. During the Holidays I am very worried that she was getting pneumonia, but it looks like the danger has passed, thank G-d.
I am almost finished with the DD’s “Good Mood” shawl. I had it actually done two weeks ago, but I did not like the way it fit her, so it had to visit the Frog Pond. After re-designing it a bit (for instance – I changed the rate of increases) I am now very happy with it. It is taking a bit longer than usual to knit because I work on it only in ulpan. Knitting is really helping my poor arthritic fingers to cope with writing so much.
This is it for now – got to go do my homework!
