I am not being Mean Mommy here. This is actually a quote from my 10 year old. She was translating something from Yiddish to English and got a bit confused. All I could think of was – how wonderfully appropriate.
I have been reading about Maggie‘s adventures on the farm, and drawing parallels. I definitely feel like a sheep dog at least twice a day. The wake up time and the going to bed are “Gather them up, and bark at them…” times. Then there is a feeding time… Are the sheep get picky about their hey?..
Have you notice me not even mentioning the “L” word – laundry… This past Friday we have finally talked DS #2 into letting us give him a haircut. It only took us 5 days or so to reconcile him to this idea. I should have taken a picture, his hair was actually long enough to spin.
So, kids and other animals…
I can see that. They both look really cute in the pictures and take a lot of work to keep them nice and clean.
But they definitely give us a lot more in return. Now I am off to hold and feed the youngest member of this menagerie and reassure myself that all is right with this world.
