I am feeling a bit lonely tonight.
DS #1 came to spend Shabbos with us this week. We had a very nice time together he was very helpful and loving and recalcitrant just enough that we could remember that he is a regular teenager. He left a few hours ago and there is a huge Boy-shaped hole in this house. We already know he got to the yeshiva OK and are not worried about him. Just miss him a lot. Somehow, now, that we are here, I miss him much more than before, when he was an Ocean away.
But there is no way I would be permitted to mop around for long (I would not want to anyway). So the kids make sure to keep me busy. DD# 3 was supposed to start kindergarden, but could not when we told the “power that be” that she is not toilet-trained. After she overheard us talking about it (yes, some pitchers have huge ears) she started toilet teaching herself. I think today went pretty well. Only one accident. Most of the time she made it to the potty in good time. I bought some Pull-Ups (very expensive here) but she does not get the difference between them and regular diapers. So, for best results I am keeping that bottom bare as much as possible.
I was half-way done with My Raglan Shawl today, when I decided that I really wanted a garter stitch edge. So, I ripped it out and started again. I like the result a lot, but wish I did it 50 rows sooner.
This week is shaping out to be extremely hectic. Our container is coming in tomorrow, way ahead of schedule and we have to finish all the paperwork to be able to claim it. So we might be traveling tomorrow to Afula and Haifa. Tuesday, the good man from Bezeq (phone company) will hopefully connect us to the Internet. Then on Wednesday our oven (actually a combo of stove top and two ovens will be delivered, than our brand-new washer is coming on Thursday. Mind you, they will have to be connected by a technician after the delivery, but it will be nice to have them here.
All in all the life is rushing forward. But the view is great!
