I love baubles. To look at. Probably because my Mom rarely wore any jewelry I too do not wear it much. Also I am around little people all the time. And they are fascinated by anything shiny. So they tend to pull on earrings, chew bracelets and choke me with chains.
That is probably why I have so many stitch markers. They serve as my “chachka outlet”. Since I make them myself, they can be as plain or as fancy as I want them to be. I use stitch markers to mark the begining of my rounds and to define the repeats on the patterns. Lots of times I use them as an incentive as I straggle through mile after mile of stockinette. But I have been running into a problem lately. I would get my markers ready, put them out nicely and then, as I rich for them to place them on my needle, they disappear. I tracked down the culprit. It was DD#3. What can I say? She also likes pretty, shiny things. Well, she can not have my markers!
Then the idea was born from necessity. I made myself a pretty pendant, that also keeps all the markers I need in place. Simple. And very pretty. And when I do not knit or crochet it can be worn as a pendant.
This pendants are now on sale at my Etsy Shop.
