Safed, Zefat, Tsfat, Zfat, Safad, Safes, Safet, Tzfat, etc. For those who don’t know it’s one small ancient city with the name spelled so differently. Tzfat located in Northern Israel, 3200 feet above sea level in the mountains of the Upper Galilee. I spoke to a few friends to get a picture of the life there, also met some officials. Here are some pictures:
This is a picture of Jerusalem street – the central street of Tzfat. When my friend came to pick me up from there, drivers behind started to beep, because only one car can fit in that street, so with a tiny car we were blocking the whole center of this Holy City.
To describe the life there in few words: crispy mountain air, poor, good schools, very reach spirituality of Jewish life and art (very hard to find any job but very cheap rent: 3 bdr apartment is under $480/m).
