Not much knitting, or crochet or beading for the past few days… I have been engaged in Pesach cleaning. It is an “enemy engagement” for me.
I intensely dislike housework and keep finding creative ways to avoid it.
Truth is, I do not have much aptitude or talent for it. I appreciate the beautiful homes some people create. Clean and lovely. And fancy meals some manage to cook, that not only taste delicious but look like a masterpiece. I love cooking and baking. But I am what was called before a “good plain cook”. I do not fuss with my food – no time for it. And do not make my salads into edible masterpieces. I just chop up some veggies and hopefully get them to stay together in a bowl. I have never frosted a cake outside of a cake decorating class – and that was a disaster of epic proportions. Truth to tell, I like my cakes “naked”. My souse usually comes from a bottle and I still have not figured out what gravy is(I heard it was a beverage). I cook the way my Grandmother did, except I do not boil all and any veggies until they are “good and dead” and can not bite me back. Simple, filling, satisfying.
So where do I put all the extra time I am left with from skipping my “womanly duties” ? It goes into my kids, my DH, my friends and my yarn. And yes, in that order.
Can I be wrong? Sure. But this is the way I like it and I am sticking to it!
