Yes, I am actually old enough to remember this greeting, the first one on TV, made every year by whoever was the Head of the Communist Party in Russia at the time. Sounds pretty ridiculous now.
Well, Happy New Year to all, who celebrates it! We all will have to get used to writing “10” instead of “09” on the checks and other stuff. I hope this year will be good to all of us no matter who we are and where we are.
My last FO of the previous year was the “Nap Sacque”!
Yeah! I felt like the fireworks were just right for the occasion. In the end, it does not fit my DD#3, who grew out of it before it was finished. It will fit very nicely a baby between 6 and 12 month. I am pretty happy with it, and I am sure it will find it’s recipient at soon enough. Besides making a really nice sleeping bag it will also make a wonderful layer under a snowsuit. I loved working with this yarn, it is made by a women’s cooperative in Latin America and called very appropriately – 100purewool. The color choices are stunning, the yarn is very, very soft, and the stitch definition is amazing.
In the process of knitting the “Nap Sacque” I discovered for myself that the (K5,P1) rib looks almost like stockinette stitch, but does not curl upwards, and shows the multi colored yarn to the best advantage. I am sure I will use this rib again and again.
I will try to post the pattern for the “Nap Sacque” as soon as I can.
