As they say, better late than never.
The wonderful Festival of Lights is almost over, but it is still not too late to wish you Happy Hanukkah.
This year Hanukkah has been especially happy for us. DS #1 has moved back home and so we are all together this year. This Mommy loves it!
Hanukkah is my favorite holiday for the simple reason that all I really have to do is to sit there and look on approvingly as DH and boys light their menorahs. Everything else is strictly optional. I did make doughnuts twice. Mine are not sweet. And not round. They are triangular and stuffed with chopped meat, fried onions and mushrooms. We buy the jelly kind from the bakery.
I baked lots of cakes. Actually, I am trying to get ahead and fill up the freezer with all kinds of cakes and cookies for “when I am away”. So far it has not been working well as kids keep finding my sweet treasures and eating them. I think next time I am going to write “raw meatloaf” on the wrapping.
Meanwhile I wish you all more light and happiness in your life.
Let the lights shine!
