Another year has sped by and I turned 46 today!
And so I am one year older than I was yesterday. Am I wiser? Probably not, but that might have been asking to much of myself.
I have been sick all last week with a nasty bout of bronchitis and since I could only draw breath sitting up lots and lots of knitting got done. After all if I am sitting up I might as well knit.
Sounds logical to me. Not to DH who kept telling me to rest but since the good doctor said that I was not allowed to have any medications stronger than tea with lemon and honey I just had to wait this thing out and knit like a maniac.
The net result of the “gift of bronchitis” is that I knit three socks, finishing my Flamingo Feet Socks, yeas I went ahead and re-named them.
And my very yummy Velvet Grapes Socks. Both pairs are extra long and I have just enough yarn leftover for heel and toe repairs in case of emergency.
The Checkered Cables pattern for these socks is practically finished I just got to do some polishing and get DH to take better photos than I and my phone can do. But this will probably have to wait until after the Rosh Hashanah. Too much to do until then.
This morning I woke up thinking what can I give as a gift to the readers of my blog and after digging into my stash I found a ball of while Alize Flower yarn. The flowers on it look a bit like violets. I happen to love violets, and so a new hat was ready in just a couple of hours.
Sometimes super bulky yarn is just what one needs to finish a quick gift. Now I “just” got to write out a pattern for it.
