I have finaly got myself together to show off the photos of the Large Good Mood Shawl.
This shawl have realy managed to surprise me. One large difference between knitting and crochet is the visibility of the WIP (work in progress). When I crochet only one stitch is a live stitch, I can unfold and measure or eye-ball how big my project is. It is not so simple with knitting. After a certain point, when a gazillion stitches crammed on the needle, it is very hard to judge the size of the WIP without taking it off the needles (of course, one MUST run a safety line first!). Then one has to get it (the WIP) carefully, stitch by stitch back on the needles. The whole prosses takes quite a bit of time.
Well, this time around I decided to skip it. I had a very finite amount of yarn – only two balls. So I decided that the shawl will just have to be as big as the amount of yarn would let me.
I knit on, and assumed that it will not be a very large shawl. Well, as you can see it turned out to be much larger than “not very large”.
Actually, my friend pronounced it just perfect.
