What can I say? DeNile is not just a river in Egypt…
Sometimes I knit on even if a man on the galloping horse with one eye closed can see that it is time to give up. This is what happened to me this time.
I love the yarn, I love the pattern and I ignored the little thing, like insufficient yardage to my own peril. Somehow I kept telling myself that all will be well, there will be enough yarn, I will just make my socks a bit shorter…
After I made my sock leg a lot shorter and was halfway through the heel flap I finally had to face the truth – I had less than a third of the ball left. There was no way it would be enough to finish the foot. And so I ripped it.
Frog pond – here I go!
Then I pulled out a skein of my precious Penny, by PennyRose Yarns, handpainted by a wonderful and amazing Yarnarian. The yarn is beautiful and soft as a cloud and so I am calling my new socks “Pink Cloud”. I am already two and a half repeats out of five into my pattern. So the sock number one is coming along very nicely.
P.S. And the yardage is very generous. This time I checked!
