Did I ever mention how much I love knitting socks?
If not, then let me tell you that socks are my second favorite thing to knit (first one being hats). I always have at least one pair in progress. But now I am finding myself with way too many SIPs – Socks In Progress. At the same time I find that I urgently need to make some more socks for me. I got wide ankles and relatively small feet, so there is no way for me to buy socks that fit really well. Belive it or not I actually started knitting to have good socks, but that is another story.
So having no less than SIX sock projects in progress I decided that it would be ridiculous to start more. I need to finish at least one before beginning a new sock project.
So I am now concentrating on “Tamar’s Long Socks” and I got them past the heel yesterday. And I hoping to finish both gussets today. I have started them in November of last year! Why are they taking me so long? Well first of all they are really long!
True knee-socks! The other reason are the d*** Inox DPNs. They are coated in Teflon or something very similar and keep falling out of the SIP. I have knit many pairs of socks and never had this problem before. No matter what I do. I know this is the last pair of socks I will ever knit using them!
After that I will have to either finish or rip out another sock project before I can start a new one.
At least that is the plan.
