I am exasperated! DD#2 has given herself a haircut. Without a mirror or anything. After all why should she?!I am so mad! She had such beautiful long hair! Now she has a huge bold spot in the front of her head. And I mean bold. Plus a section of very short hair on the side. There is really no way to cover it up.
Part of the problem is that according to a Jewish custom we do not take a haircut between a Holiday of Passover and Shavuot. So there is more than a months before we can cut her hair in any way. The other part of the problem is that she really cut her hair very very close to her head, and I doubt that shaving a nine year-old girl, who is new in school is a good idea.
So we came up with a temporary solution. She will wear a pretty hat that will cover the bold part. I spoke to one of the teachers and was told that she will be allowed to keep it on in School.
All this means that I played with yarn and after much experimentation came up with a new pattern for a summer hat (the weather beginning to heat up here). It was almost done, when I tried it on her (she was sleeping already) and it was way too big. So after unraveling the hat I began again. The hat is now half-done. It is now after one in the morning. I hope to have it ready for morning.
