With my knitting block a thing of the past and startitis hitting me full blast the mountain of yarn on my bed a.k.a. my office a.k.a. baby’s playpen is growing steadily. I keep adding more and more projects to my mental “To Knit” list.
It is getting out of hand and I need to make some choices here because my knitting time is still pretty limited. But meanwhile, just being surrounded by all these yarny goodies is a lot of fun! As long as I remember to keep my project bags zippered to prevent DS #4 from playing with my yarn, needles, and hooks.
Unusually for me, I am mainly concentrating on one particular project right now. All others are at the planning stage of putting needles and yarn together, picking out or making stitch markers that are just right (yes, I am nuts and I know it).
The current favorite is “Braided Hug” a cabled sweater for DS #4.
It is a simple raglan pullover, with an eight-stitch cable in the center front and a four-stitch cable on each sleeve. Last night I finally got to the point where the sleeves were separated from the body of the sweater and now it is all plain sailing. The main thing was to work out stitch and row counts. Now I just have to hope that I will not run out of yarn! I am using Swish Superwash DK by Knit Picks in Delf Heather colorway. It might end up being short sleeve!
Another project I have been working on steadily is my next garter tab shawl. I love this technique and just started experimenting with it. I am a bit torn between the idea that I should finish at least some of my WIPs before starting so many new projects. Oh well, tomorrow will be my Inventory Day!
