DS #1 was “visiting” us lest week. He had a flu, was cranky and full of self-pity. Darn, as I wrote it I realized that this describes myself too.
Well, I wanted to make him feel better, so what could I do? I made a pair of socks for him from the warm alpaca blend yarn. What a pleasure it is to knit kid’s socks out of thick yarn! Almost instant gratification! A few rows and the cuff is made, the heel is done in a blink of an eye! Why did I forget how rewarding it is?!
DS has very wide feet and very skinny legs, so I had to play with my yarn a bit until I got the result I wanted – sock that fits well. And yes, I am writing this pattern for publishing. The name of the pattern – “Boy’s Own Socks”.
Well, the socks is now finished, DS is feeling a lot better and left for school (the socks on his feet)and I have started one more pair of thick socks for him – this time it is camel hair yarn I got from the Russian source.
