I got a bit of a knitting burn-out right before Pesach. So I switched my addiction for a bit. Here is the result – six pretty new necklaces for me to wear and show off.
One of the things I wanted to experiment with was the different combinations of black and white. The first necklace is made from large natural quartz crystal chips and black Czech pressed beads, with a few tiny lavender beads to bring in a bit more color. I think it made a very pretty “young lady” necklace for DD #1.
Ever since reading “The Moonstone”, at the age of 8, I have been fascinated by the amazing and powerful gem that had so many adventures happen around it. Well, I still like the beautiful moonstones, deceptively simple, but with so many hidden shadows. This necklace is made from 8mm moonstone roundels and black Czech pressed glass beads with accent of the tiny sterling silver beads. The focal bead is handmade sterling silver bead. This one is my “Mommy” version of the “Young lady” necklace.
Black dominates my third necklace. Large Black Agate beads are separated by matter white Czech pressed beads. I will need a special occasion to wear this choker necklace. I hope one comes along soon.
After so much black and white I was craving COLOR! I had a very pretty handmade lampwork glass bead for a while, but was not sure what I can do with just one big bead. I decided to put it together with some rainbow-colored quartz chips. The happy result is this very pretty Summer necklace.
I love all shades of purple. From pale lavender to deep plum. And amethyst is my favorite stone. This necklace is made from lavender Czech pressed glass beads, separated by Czech seed beads. I also added a few fresh water pearls and sterling silver beads. The pendant is made from an amethyst disk with the tassel of more Czech beads. This is the necklace I have been wearing the most so far.
Last, but not least is one more “Tassel necklace”. This one is made with dark 10mm round amethyst beads, separated by Czech seed beads, and accented by cooper Bali Beads. The pendant of the tassel is made from a marge handmade lamworked glass bead with cooper shavings embedded in it.
It felt very good to switch my creative focus for a while and play with beads instead of yarn. And I have to admit that I love wearing my new creations, it puts me in a very good mood.
