I love baskets of all kinds. This basket has been living on my bed or near it for the past few years. In it I kept my current works in progress. I will admit, it is not the most beautiful basket ever woven. And it was pretty aggressive. If I was not careful it would stab me, trip me or simply flip over on me. DH has been trying forever to get rid of it. But then, what does he know? His main criteria for the container – is it stackable? If no, he is not interested.
So, he has tried to appeal to my sanity – good luck, I lost it a long time ago. He mentioned aesthetics – ha, I knew this basket was ugly, I still wanted to keep it. He spoke about convenience – well if I wanted my convenience… well, I better not say, I just would not be me.
A few days ago I was at a nice second-hand store where I came across a really huge hat box. I love hat boxes even more than baskets. And no, I do not wear hats, but what does it have to do with anything? So the box had to come home with me.
I happily told my DH that his dream has came true! He can get rid of the basket! I have now something better for my WIPs – this huge box. It looks much better than the basket, especially with the cover closed.
By the way, the hat box was not empty. My Mom got a very pretty hat out this deal.
