What a day! What a day! I think I might have skid marks, you know where!!!
First I am ecstatic because Chicken Stitches has now 203 followers!!! My Birthday is only a couple of days away, but I feel like I got my present early! Thank you to all, who reads my blog, and thank you to all, who follows it. And, of course, my special thanks to the wonderful people, who take the time to comment on my posts.
Of course, you can guess what this means! That is right – I am going to celebrate this big time! After all This week has turned out very special.
I started going to school!!!
Yesterday, totally unexpectedly we got a call that the new ulpan was starting Tuesday morning. So please be there bright and early (at 8.30 A.M.) with a notebook and pen. I was very excited! Just a few weeks ago we were told that it can be a few months before the ulpan started, and there was a real possibility that it would be in another town about an hour away.
So today was my first day in school. Ulpan is a school for new immigrants where they learn Hebrew. DD #1 missed her bus today, so, lucky me she was able “to take” me to my new school. I have to tell you, I do not know how preschoolers do it. The first day in school is pretty scary even for Mommies! DD #1 graciously offered to hold my hand “if I need it”.
And yes I took her up on her offer.
Well, after the first day of learning I can now say in Hebrew that my name is Henya, I am a student and not a teacher, I am from the U.S. and yes – I am a Mommy.
And what a wonderful teacher I got! I told her that I feel much calmer with the yarn and needles in my hands and now I have an official permission to knit during lessons!!!
Now I need to go do my homework. Most of the other students are younger than me and I can not look like a dummy! I got to do well!
