I had such grandiose knitting plans for this morning. Instead…
Well, let me start at the beginning. Last night, after going to sleep very nicely, DD #3 woke up looking like a chipmunk. Her throat is swollen and she has a fever. Clearly the latest one to get strep. Poor baby! Today was supposed to be her first day of school! Poor Mammy, who was dreaming of the nice knitting day. Instead, we were up all night. DD #3 finally went to sleep at about 4 A.M. I had to wake up at 6 A.M. to get the older girls up in time for their buses. This year DD #1 will be going to school in Kiriyat Shmuel – over an hour away from home. It is a long way to travel, but the school is very good and DD really wanted to do that.
So after an exciting night and getting everyone up and vertical I just crashed myself and fell asleep. The only “knitting” thing I did was the beginning of the edging on my Lacy “Good Mood” shawlette. I realized that there is not enough yarn left for the crochet picot edging I want. So I have wound into a ball some matching sock yarn and will try to see later how it will work.
Now, the kids are starting to trickle back from school.
The first day of freedom is over.
