In the last two weeks my writing was very sporadic. The kids are out of school, they are like gas. They fill up every second of the time I have. Not that there was any extra time to begin with. Also I am preparing a few patterns for sale. And I have knit and crochet a lot. It is interesting how I really use the word “knit” when I talk about either knitting or crocheting. There is just one word for both in Russian. Most crafters can do either one and will use the one that is better for what they have in mind.
So, here is what has been happening while I did not write.
On Monday, I got to go to the Etsy Craft Night. It was really nice. First of all, it felt wonderful to get away. Thank you Eli. Finding like minded crafter was really grate. We sat and schmoozed and did our thing, and learned new stuff if we wanted to. Personally, I learned how to make buttons. The round ones, that supposed to say something funny, but usually do not. I have also explained a concept of “crafting ADD” to those present. Besides the buttons I have worked on my knitting projects. Four of them. And made an appointment to learn beading next week. Also on Monday, DS#1 left for his Summer camp in Canada. He will be there for eight weeks.
On Tuesday, I found out that my friend had a baby, and I made a hat for the newborn. I am calling it Baby Beloved.
I love baby hats, they go so fast that I refuse to count them as a full fledged distraction. Also it was an excuse to play with cashmere. I had about 25 grams leftover from a baby-boy hat I made another friend over a year ago. I do have to plead “guilty” to starting one more baby hat, but again. It is not a project. Just a swatch, that got out of hand.
