I have been away from my blog way too long. I just looked it up and it was over 3 months!
Sorry, sorry, sorry, to all who are still interested in reading whatever thoughts I can scrape up at the moment.
But this time I really have a very good excuse for my blog neglect.
Here he is
DS #4 was born exactly 3 weeks ago!
My happy, healthy and in every way wonderful Baby Boy!
Now, the boy part was a bit of a surprise for me, since my youngest boy before DS #4 is 11 years old. As usual I took a ton of yarn with me to the hospital when I went to have a baby and almost all of it was pink!
I finally started on this blanket, declaring that it was not really blue and pink, but blue and fuchsia – perfectly acceptable for a male baby.
Meanwhile we all are doing very well. Slowly getting used to the new person in our lives. I think that being an older mother of newborn (I turned 46 in September) is a wonderful experience. We both, DH and I are full of gratitude to G-d for this amazing new person in our lives, appreciative of the help and love of our older kids and totally in love with a new baby.
Things like sleepless nights, loaded diapers and 12 hour long feeding marathons do not even rate as mild annoyances. It is all pure happiness at this point, a special much needed “happy pill” for a pair of parents living with a bunch of teenagers.
Another thing is – I am finally knitting!
I knit very little in the last three months of my pregnancy, not at all in the last month. I did lots and lots of Beaded Kumihimo (and will take pictures and post my projects soon).
Well as soon as I went into labor I wanted my yarn and needles but it took a while to actually start knitting. At this point the baby’s first hat and a pair of booties are done (hopefully photos tomorrow), a sweater is almost done
A pair of pants have been started and lots more projects are being planned. And I am re-learning the valuable skill of knitting and nursing at the same time.
And now DS #4 will be up from his nap and want his milk any moment, so I better hurry up and finish this post.
